about

written, performed, and produced by Brad Peterson
On a Sunday evening -the very day I had decide what songs to include on the ellipsis album, I took a break and picked up my guitar and began to strum and sing a melody that had been floating in my my mind. I engaged the voice recorder of phone and this song was sketched in minutes. I’ve read the story about Paul McCartney and how he was unsure whether “Yesterday” (temporarily titled “Scrambled Eggs”) was maybe another composer's work; that’s how I felt. Consulting the most musically knowledgeable folks I knew and personal research, The process of clearing and vetting the song took twenty times longer than writing and recording it. I wanted a prime number for the amount of tracks and seventeen seemed too much so there are some good songs that are in limbo right now in lieu of this, perhaps favorite song on the record. This song, above the others, best represents me, in it’s stark live performance, for what I really am at the end of the day: a singer-songwriter.

lyrics

Well you can write your name
Or you can sing your song
You can bid or build until your toil is long
Everything fades
And everyone dies
I’ll see you on the other side
You might drive to Maine
Or own a splendid car
You might be well-known in the place you are
Let it all go
And just enjoy the ride
And I’ll see you on the other side
You may not have a home
Or s stitch of clothes
You may stand abandoned
Left here on your own
We we can’t stay
We cannot hide
I’ll see you on the other side
I’ll see you on the other side
I’ll see you on the other side

about

Brad Peterson Chicago, Illinois

The word ‘maverick’ gets thrown around a lot; politicians, cowboys, designers and others have all been labeled as such when a soul sets itself apart from the mean in order to find out what is truly possible. Singer/songwriter Brad Peterson exemplifies the ethos of the independent, intrepid musician better than almost anyone. ... more
